before/after - hide and seek

Hide and Seek

Hope you guys like!! It was very fun to do, plus I got to clean the attic!!! Woooop

What I did here was adjust the curves, colour balance and added in the shadow of my hand on GIMP. I dodged my face a little to make it brighter and made my cheekbones stand out more to make me look a little cuckoo

Aaron time soon! Aaron time soon!! Aaaaahhh I am so excited!!!!

Here’s a question for you guys - whats your love story?? I am a sucker for romance, and I’m sure you guys and girls out there have some tales - so share share share!!!

On the blurb book front, things are going awesome!! All the money raised through them so far is going towards a food and aeroplane- ticket-home fund for when I move next year. For those who missed that post, you can preview and order the Behind the Scenes - Fairytales book

HERE and HERE and HERE!

A couple of people have noticied a lack of regular updates - this is because I am still taking 365s but posting them under the “family only” setting. I am still doing 365, but its a personal thingy now because I don’t want to post crap some days. Maybe one day I will post the ones that never made it. Perhaps :)

Love to you all

ITS AARONS BIRTHDAY TOMORROW!!!!

and happy birthday to andrea!! :D

you don’t belong here anymore

December2

you do not belong here anymore

a before/during and after :)

aaaand the set-up!! the skies cleared JUST as i’d finished the shoot, yay!

the green bag is my big photography bag. i take it everywhere with me!

As for the news on the blurb books -

i have almost finished making the 8×10 portrait book of the fairytale series.

Due to it being larger size, i can fit more photos in it without compromising quality, so this book has both the fairytale series and some of my personal faves, like todays photo. A few of you have asked if the text commentary is included in the books - YES :) most definetly!! thats whats making me take so long! :P

The tutorials are done on GIMP so therefore are for people who use GIMP :) I know first hand how expensive photoshop is, and if you dont have photoshop and use GIMP instead then hopefully these will help you out. If you DO use photoshop and were planning on getting some of these tutorials, I am going to point you over to Aaron because he deals with photoshop and offers tutoring on it in his online classes.

I am offering them individually as well as as packages. The first package will include

- how to make hair windblown

- how to remove clutter from background

- how to make yourself thinner

- how to airbrush yourself (portraits)

and you can buy each of these individually, too :)

They will be up and running by Friday.

we were making silly faces in bed. im not sure why my screen came out blue. maybe my face was just too silly for my computer.

Aaaaand finally

Thankyou so much for everyone who has given me their names and emails for the draw to win some free prints of my shizz :) I have written all your emails down on bits of card and put them in a box, and the draw will be on friday! you can still enter, just leave your name and email in a comment on the post below this post :) The prints are 8×8 and will be packaged and shipped by me. No payment for shipping required, I’ll get that. There are 5 going so if you fancy it, feel free to enter.

hooray!

Self Growth - before/during/after

November19

This took me around 31/2 hours work on GIMP, but that did included the TEN TIMES it crashed!!! damn it!!

a new layout of before/after ;) that way you can see em bigger.

This was done using mostly the fuzzy erase tool. Aaron was teaching me how to do mist (picture2) on the phone - all you do is use the white fuzzy brush tool at about 30% opacity. I never knew that. Go figure!!

Hope you all like!! :D

A kind-of Before and After

November13

Before and After :)

As you can see, I had both sides of the building to re-build. The left side was the easiest, because that only required parts of the images I already had - like bricks. The right side however was a nightmare, because I had to re-build the window without much window to work with. I then added colour to a grayscale which was my mistake because I foolishly rebuilt the damn thing on black and white instead of the original because I thought grayscale would look better and it didn’t. So I added colour by adjusting the curves via red, and then changing hue of certain areas and then adjusting the colour balance. I feel so relieved it is over!

Before & After - I was once a hero

i was once a hero

Another really simple edit. I copied the tree on the left, scaled it larger, flipped it and pasted it over the leafy things so it joined up with the tree behind them, added in a ray of light by selecting a light ray sort of shape, feathering it and then adjusting the curves of that selection, and then played with the colours!

So I was rooting through my old youtube uploads, and I found this video of me when I was about 6 singing to weird song, so I thought I’d post, since you’d all seen aaron being cutesy as a kid! i am not sure what the gold wig is for, but i’m pretty certain i’m supposed to be an alien. in a nativity.

So what I did for this shot, was drag Julius up the hill, and then took some shots of me, and then moved Julius around the hill, keep my tripod in the same place. This made him easier to edit in, which I did using a large eraser circley brushy thing on GIMP. I used a 10 second self timer on Julius, because he wouldn’t stand up on his own so I had to hold him up.

9 days till Aaron time! He’s asked me to look at some resturants to go to when we are in NYC, and holy crap some of them are posh!! Four seasons has a dress code - and if you don’t bring a jacket, you have to borrow one of theirs!! I mean woah!! Thats insane!!!

Can anyone recommend anywhere?

Sleep time for me now. Mmm, my eyes are droopy :)
